Blogrush – Your Blog Syndication Network

This is a new idea from John Reese. The well known Internet marketer, anyone who has been in it for a while will know and have a great amount of respect for him. I only actually heard of him recently… ish but have been impressed with everything i’ve seen from him.
If you have heard of him recently then it will probably be in relation to his new site income.com which has been in sub-launch mode for longer than I can remember but looks like it will be amazing.
Anyway, this new idea is going to be part of the ‘income.com network’ and it will launch 14th September… mid-day (US time) I’m actually in the UK so it will be a different time for me… but anyway, that’s when it launches.
This new idea is going to be a sort of… traffic sharing network for bloggers. Basically you sign up (for free) and grab some javascript code for the widget, put the widget on your blog and that widget then displays relevant posts on relevant blogs. Also you get syndication credits for people you refer to blog rush which will build up and ultimately get you more traffic. You can see an image of the widget below:

So if somebody clicks ‘Add Your Blog Posts – FREE’ or the BlogRush tab then that counts as a referral as they can tell what blog it came from.
You will also be able to filter out certain keywords so that no posts with those keywords appear on your widget and you can even filter out specific blogs.
Personally I think this is a great innovation and I think it will become huge. It’s got a huge viral aspect, it’s free and it gets you free traffic. You actually give your readers relevant posts, targeted relevant posts as aposed to just ads so i’m sure that will be a good thing which people will latch on to.
The only downside I can actually pick out is the fact that your sending people to potentially competitors blogs, I mean you can filter out what you want but still… your inviting competition which brings me to a new point that this will actually make people try harder! so forget that downside I think this may actually improve any blog that uses it as you will want to be better than anyone else in your widget.
Amazing innovation from John Reese, bloggers get ready to sign up soon! – Blogrush.com
Also keep a close eye on income.com which will be launching after this and should be amazing.
I don’t think there is such a thing as competition in blogging. There are plenty of readers to go around. The problem is having them find you, not information overload on their part.
Readers who subscribe to blogs within your niche are much for likely to subscribe to your feed too.
I think there is an element of competition. If something becomes a stone authority or leader on something the majority will usually flee there and forget the rest. Equally if somebody is so well opinionated n’ by that I mean someone who takes in intellectual consideration and is passionate not someone who rants for the sake of it then I think they will beat out relevant competition.
I hardly read any blogs… only 1 regularly because I enjoy the style of writing. I think the mistake alot of bloggers make is forgetting to entice readers with you know, actual good writing. Something new, different, a point of view. They either just purposely rant to get controversial attention or they do the opposite and lick everyones ass so that everyone will like them.
Which is usually the downside as this will produce a lack of interest in the reading. Who wants to listen to a blogger with no opinion.
I agree, every blog is unique in its own way and reaching the masses is more important than trying to keep a few readers for yourself.
That was part of my concern.Someone could use this to someones disadvantage. Do you know if it allows you to block sites you don’t want displaying in the feed?
Thanks for sharing that info buddy. I was not aware of that idea. It’s wonderful how to use it to increase traffic in a free way.I believe there are many more ways to increase traffic to any site without spending a fortune on the net. And this idea is just the beginning of it.
I think it’s really an amazing service..i’m subscribing for it right now!!
Wow…This is really a good service to the new bloggers. Hope I’ll get handful of visitors to my make money online blog.
This is really a new concept and great effort for blogger, I recently added its widget and lets hope for good.
Cheers!
I joined and added the widget. so far so good.
Judging from the past 4 days that it’s been on my site, I feel that blogrush isn’t worth the hype. I’ve hard 4000+ hits in those four days and blogrush has redirected just 20 to my site.
Quoting from one of my sources:
Traffic exchange is all that — exchange of traffic. If you don’t have any, you can’t trade ‘em. And obviously, those with little to nil traffic will be the ones who’ll be most interested/excited in getting traffic. It means, it will be hard to get traffic from this program if you don’t have traffic to put in it as well.Lol that quote is just stating the obvious. It’s like he’s saying “well.. you have to get traffic to get it back”
Well… that’s obvious lol, the program lets you know that. Which is why you do have to have a lot of traffic to get some back.
But to be honest, I don’t see what’s ‘not worth’ it. It doesn’t harm your blog so I don’t see why you don’t implement it anyway.
But I agree, it is a poor traffic source and it certainly is not prolific.
