Inspiration for Blog Posts

Anyone who owns a niche blog and attempts to post prolifically knows how hard it can be to keep up regular quality of content. You may find yourself running out of post ideas now and then.
Here’s some ways to find inspiration…
Social networking sites – Sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon with constant interesting content can be great sites to visit to help aid fresh post ideas. There is constantly fresh new articles and stories posted so not saying you should copy those but just use them to inspire new ideas. Such as if you see a post on something you feel passionate about and strongly disagree with, if it’s related to your blog… post your opinion on it. And if you don’t have a blog on something you feel passionate about… make one!
Other blogs – Again, a great way to inspire thought. Go take a gander at some popular blogs and see what they’re talking about and post your opinion on it. Maybe you see an inexperienced blogger post on something and they get something wrong or give spurious advice and it’s mass read, bring this to attention.
Forums – Another social retreat to help inspire ideas. Take a look at what topics are popular and which you have an input on. This is also nice strategic posting as if you do this a lot you will always be talking about popular things in your niche at that time. But I’d recommend only doing this when you’re stuck, try and come up with truly unique things whenever possible.
TV – Watching TV can help. If you put the news on and see some interesting stories… I mean, you never know what topics will be covered so always check out the latest news. Sometimes you can get lucky and a big story can break about what you blog about, which doesn’t sound like a big thing but if you blog about something to an obsessed few, it can be.
Audiobooks and books – Probably one of the easiest and biggest ways to provoke immediate thought in my opinion. Listen to and read things from people you admire. If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur you’d be surprised what passionate thought listening to some classic motivational books can inflame. I don’t mean sit down like an obsessive freak, just shove one on the background as your working on something else until you hear something that inspires you. I recommend Think and Grow Rich. And the same with regular books, just have a quick read to get some inspiration, it can go a long way.
So if you’re ever stuck for posting again, just try any of the above methods. I’m sure you’ll have a ton of ideas soon enough.
Oh, and the picture incase your wondering. I know it’s a bit irrelevant given it’s boxing, but it’s just a classic picture of someone at the height of their inspirational power and Ali was and still is an inspiration to a lot of people so I thought it was the perfect picture.
I find myself running out of things to post regularly. Then i stop and think about what I have actually been thinking about, and write about that – because if I am thinking it, then the chance of others thinking the same thing is quite high.
Great Post!
That’s why I have choosen to be a “nicheless” blogger. It allows me to cover anything I want and people don’t get to upset about it as they aren’t expecting one subject time and again.
Yeah that’s where casual blogs and pop culture blogs are great. But because there is so many and so many dominators it’s much harder to get a big blog. Yet it is I suppose easier to get ranked for a broader range of things.
But still, I think these days a well targeted blog is the way to go.
Great Post! I’m a believer in the emerging “creative economy” and as part of that I listen to the Killer Innovations podcast. Phil is a great leader in innovation at HP and his podcast goes miles towards teaching people how to think creatively and make connections between things which most people are blind to. By following Phils ideas I often find blog topics where most people see nothing!

Don’t forget music. If you’re in the right place at the right time, the lyrics in music can inspire the perfect message.
good ideas. i will rememebr them when i need help. the cool thing about my blog is that the niche is weightloss, fitness, but its also my personal blog so i can talk about anything about ME.
