Make Money Online
Below is a list of ad networks / affiliates I recommend using to make money online as well as other methods via your own merit.
Google Adsense - Sign up here
Well… if you’re trying to make money online and haven’t heard of Google Adsense. Have you been trying to make money online with your eyes shut and your ears stuffed with cotton! At the moment, the best contextual advertising program to make revenue from your site. Easy to implement, easy to customise. Great!
AuctionAds - Sign up here
This is a great ad program. Originally started and co-owned by Jeremy Shoemaker. Shoemoney and his team recently sold AuctionAds to MediaWhiz. AuctionAds displays ads in the form of items currently being bid on, on eBay on whatever keywords your choose to use. It’s great for niche sites and since you earn commision on whatever a ‘clicker’ does within 30 days on eBay after the click, you can often get very lucky.
One of the key viral aspects to AuctionAds was the fact they payed out 100% to publishers and continued to so. It’s basically one big eBay affiliate program, it also has some brilliant things which separates it from many ad programs such as an option to allow ads to open up in a new window. Which is great, it means if they don’t end up taking action from that ad, they can close it and still be on your site, so there is no ‘one click and gone’ effect like with Adsense!
TTZ Media Affiliates - Sign up here
This is John Chow’s new shopping ad network. It delivers targeted product ads based on keywords. That’s the great thing about this, other shopping affiliate ad networks usually allow you to just choose from a category, which results in broad ads, TTZ allows for specifically targeted products and brands via keywords. TTZ also allows you to customize your font family, font color, background, border, link color, hover color… it’s very customizable put it that way. And as far as I know the only ad network to offer this range of options, also there are 15 size units available. I think this ad network will turn out to be very prolific.
Direct advertising - This is probably the most profitable way to make an income from your site. If you have a website which gets alot of monthly uniques, one of the best ways to make money from it is to sell advertising space on your site. Things like Adsense and AuctionAds are great to but obviously you’re giving them a cut of the money made for each click, it may be instantaneous and easy to set up but I think direct advertising is still the best. You can charge a monthly fee, yearly fee, weekly fee, it’s up to you. Just advertise a spot visually, set up an info page about how to buy that space, work out deals with specific advertisers and your done. You can even email targeted companies within your field, it does no harm and you’d be surprised how many will be interested.
Selling links - If you have a site with a decent PR and a fair bit of traffic, selling links can be a good option. Other webmasters gain PR from getting backlinks on websites with higher PR but they are mainly looking for especially high PR like PR6 or 7. So if you have under this I would advise against selling links on your site as it can do more bad than good. But if you have a high one and don’t currently sell links in a sidebar or whatever this may be for you.
Obviously the above ways are just a few specific ways to make money from your site. There are many more ways for you to make money online, these are just the most common and the most profitable to my knowledge. But different sites can maximize revenue in different areas, one site may work well with Adsense yet one might make tons more with something else. It depends on alot of things;
- Your audience
- Where your traffic comes from
- How much traffic you get
- Your design / layout
- Your content
Just to name a few. So if you currently own a website which is getting traffic and you are not making money from it using one of the above techniques… what are you waiting for? get to it. Remember, experimenting and testing is the thing which will improve your income so if you try something and it doesn’t work, don’t worry just try something else and keep trying until it does. And when you do succeed, don’t settle, improve on that, you can always go back to the state you were in if something doesn’t work. Your only limits are your creativity and your effort.
