The Power of Google

Google

It’s quite unbelievable the power of Google pretty much anywhere on the net. You write anything formidably relative to them on any social networking site or forum and it usually gets way more attention than most things you put hard effort into writing.

I say unbelievable but that’s not true, it’s very believable obviously because they have built the status they have from back in the 90′s. But it can be quite annoying, given that you can spend a lot of time writing a valuable article and it doesn’t get much attention on social networking sites simply because a lot of people glance the title and if it doesn’t have a recognizable brand, name, site or whatever in it they ignore it.

This obviously isn’t a rule of thumb it’s not like ALL good content gets overlooked unless it’s about something popular but it does happen a lot. Just like this little post will probably get more attention than some of my articles that have real advice which I’ve put real effort into compiling to help unsure or very inexperienced webmasters.

So my advice is, write about Google. Not all the time, but at least now and then to get attention. It’s unfair your great content can be overlooked but that’s the reality.

Great post. It makes me re-think what I should focus my content on. It seems like if you mention Apple or Google you’re bound to get dugg nowadays.

Yeah, as long as it’s a new story or good article on them.

But I wouldn’t advise basing your content on something simply because it’s popular or well known, or big at present.

Make a site / sites on things you’re passionate about and with a blog I would advise narrowing that passion to a defined niche as there are too may generic blogs which go off in tangems about things, so I think it’s just making more work for yourself.

Good advice. I wasn’t going to start changing the blog completely, I just never write about Google because I go to my feed, and EVERY site is talking about Google, like last night about Google’s Android. I guess I always assume the market’s too flooded with it ha.
